Solomon-Magus - Magician and Exorcist. In this presentation, we will trace the appearance of King Solomon through the ancient, medieval, Renaissance and early modern grimoire traditions, highlighting the King's extra-regal roles as a magician and an exorcist. We will show how Solomon was variously described as being a controller of demons, angels, and djinn, as well as being a user of magical talismans and pentacles. Get ready to see a side of the King that is often purposefully neglected - Solomon the Magus

Parmenides, Empedokles, and De Nerval’s Masonic Legend - An alternative version of Freemasonry’s Hiramic legend, first recorded in Gérard de Nerval’s book, Voyage en Orient (1851), is shown to possess a number of structural and symbolic similarities to a) legends surrounding certain of the Presocratics—most notably the death of Presocratic philosopher and poet, Empedokles—and b) De Nerval’s own decline

Don't know where to start? Don't worry! This Esotericism 101 panel will cover the basics of Western (and some Eastern) philosophies and mystery schools. The overview and ensuing discussion will sure to be an enlightening conversation!
